Well, here we are again.
Another year, another opportunity to create memories, reflect on the amazing times we’ve had this year and get excited about the times ahead. With the limited options to celebrate with a crowd, I thought I’d share some things that I’m doing and hopefully, that could inspire you.
Relaxation is a one of the best ways you can love on yourself.
Run a hot bath, pour a glass of mineral water, put on some soothing sounds and soak for a while. Inhale optimism, exhale stress and worry. Grab a detox face and neck sheet mask (from your local Target) and put your head back. Just relax into 2024. The evening should be filled with awareness and intention but for now, just be still. And don’t worry, the wine comes later.
Awaken the surface with the sense of touch.
Now this is something that I love doing, especially after a long bath. Of course, we moisturize after showering, but in this case, using an aromatherapy-scented body not only awakens your senses, but it relaxes you tremendously when paired with light pressure and stretching. I use Bath & Body Works eucalyptus massage oil. And yes, if you have an extra set of hands around, share the love. You’ve got a long night ahead so stay focused (lol).
Mark the moment with a memory.
Put on your softest robe and pull out that journal. It’s time to make the last entry of the year. This is where the wine comes in. Pour the evening’s selection and close it out right. I have never been able to consistently journal everyday during a year, but for me, when I do make entries, they are significant. I will likely look back on a few entries, but the focus is on the 2021 finale.
Make your wardrobe choice significant and personal.
This may come as a surprise but I only have one thing to say about this topic. I have only one rule. Make sure your outfit makes you feel beautiful, powerful and good about yourself. Of course, get as glam as you like, pull out “the dress”, dig out “the shoes” wear a ridiculous headpiece. The rules still apply.
